How to receive website chat in the CRM inbox via Crisp

If your website runs the Crisp chat widget, you can handle its conversations right in the CRM: a visitor's message lands in the inbox, and a new inquiry creates a lead.

Who can use it

  • The CRM module must be enabled. Without it, the Crisp panel in the company profile is inactive and labeled “Available when the CRM module is enabled”.
  • Only an administrator can connect and disconnect Crisp: the server will refuse anyone else.
  • The connection is made for the branch you are currently working in.

What you need from Crisp

Three values from your Crisp workspace:

Field in RentProgWhere to find it in Crisp
Website IDFrom the address bar: app.crisp.chat/website/<ID>/
API identifierThe website key: Settings → Workspace Settings → Advanced Configuration → API Token
API keyIn the same place, on the same website key

How to connect Crisp

  1. In Crisp, open Settings → Workspace Settings → Advanced Configuration → API Token and create a website key.
  2. Copy the identifier and the key, and the website ID from the Crisp address bar.
  3. In RentProg, open the company profile, the “Integrations” tab, the Crisp panel.
  4. Paste the three values into the form and click “Connect Crisp”.
  5. Copy the webhook URL that appears — the copy icon is to the right of the field.
  6. In Crisp, add this URL in the webhook settings and select the events message:send, message:received, and session:set_email.

When you connect, RentProg immediately checks the keys with a request to Crisp. If they don't work, the connection is not saved and you will see a refusal: check the website ID, the identifier, and the key.

Without step 6, messages won't arrive

RentProg needs the keys to reply in the chat. But for visitor messages to reach the CRM, Crisp itself must send them to the webhook URL. Until the URL is added in Crisp, the inbox stays empty.

Tip

A Crisp website can be connected to only one RentProg company. If it is already connected elsewhere, the connection will fail.

What happens to inquiries

  • A new visitor message lands in the CRM inbox. A new inquiry creates a lead, and the source is set automatically — by the Crisp channel.
  • The visitor's email: if the visitor left it in the chat, it is added to the lead when the email field there is empty. If a client with that email already exists in the database, the inquiry is linked to that client.
  • Your reply from the CRM goes back to the chat on the website. You can attach a file to the reply.

How to reconnect Crisp

  1. Disconnect Crisp in the panel.
  2. Connect again with the same or new keys.
  3. Copy the new webhook URL and replace the old one with it in the Crisp settings.

Important

The webhook URL changes with every connection. The old URL stops working after reconnecting — if you don't replace it in Crisp, messages will stop arriving.

How to disconnect Crisp

  1. Open the company profile, the “Integrations” tab, the Crisp panel.
  2. Click “Disconnect” and confirm: “Disconnect Crisp? Incoming messages will stop reaching the CRM.”

The keys are deleted from RentProg, and the webhook URL stops working. Conversations already received stay in the leads.
