How to list vehicles on Localrent

Localrent is a website where clients search for and book rental vehicles. When a branch is connected to Localrent, the site sees the vehicles you have published, pickup locations, prices and available dates, and a client's booking appears in RentProg right away.

Who has access

  • The Localrent panel in the company profile is active if Localrent is included in the plan.
  • The integration toggle in this panel only shows whether the branch is connected: it cannot be changed there. Connecting a branch is turned on by RentProg administration.
  • Company employees can publish and unpublish vehicles; this is not available to partners, agents and guests.
  • Bicycles and scooters do not have the Localrent panel in their card.

How to publish a vehicle

  1. Make sure that in the company profile, on the “Integrations” tab, the integration toggle in the Localrent panel is on.
  2. Open the vehicle card and expand the Localrent panel.
  3. Click “Publish”.

The “Publish” button is inactive until the branch is connected to Localrent. To remove a vehicle from the site, click “Unpublish” in the same panel.

Important

Only an active vehicle in the “Possible to rent” or “Maintenance is required” state can be published. In any other state the system will refuse, and Localrent does not show an already published vehicle that is in another state.

What Localrent sees

  • published active vehicles of connected branches in the “Possible to rent” and “Maintenance is required” states;
  • active pickup locations of these branches;
  • prices and availability: a vehicle with an overlapping booking does not appear in search.

How a booking from Localrent arrives

The booking is created in RentProg in the “New” state with Localrent as the source. Before creating it, the system checks once more that the vehicle is free on those dates; if it is booked, Localrent receives a refusal.

The system looks for the client in the company group first by email, then by phone. If it does not find one, it creates a new client with Localrent as the source. For a returning client, the “New” category is changed to “Loyal”.

Extras selected on Localrent are added to the booking. The booking creation is recorded in the branch's operations log.

If a client cancels a booking on Localrent

Cancellation goes through as long as the vehicle has not been handed over. The booking moves to “Client rejection” with the reason the client gave, and employees receive notifications:

  • an email to the branch's bookings address, if one is set;
  • a Telegram message, if Telegram is connected;
  • a push notification in the app to the branch's employees.

If the vehicle has already been handed over or the booking is completed, Localrent receives a refusal, and the booking does not change.
