What makes up the amount due
A booking's total is not just the rental cost. It includes:
| Component | When it appears |
|---|---|
| Rental cost | Always |
| Delivery and pickup | If the handover or return is outside the office |
| Equipment | Child seats, boosters, chargers, and more |
| Catalog add-ons | Services from the additional services catalog |
| Insurance | If taken out |
| Washing | If returned dirty |
| Additional drivers | By the number added |
| Extra hours | Beyond full days |
| Mileage | If the included limit is exceeded |
| Damage | Based on the return inspection |
| Fuel | If returned with a less than full tank |
| Fines | Assigned to this booking |
| Other | One-off charges |
| Deposit | Until the vehicle is returned |
The deposit is part of the amount due
Until the vehicle is returned, the deposit is a component of the amount due — and usually the largest one. After the return it drops out.
That's why the amount due drops sharply at the moment of return, even though no charges were canceled. This is not a rental recalculation but the deposit leaving the total.
Why the total is higher than the daily price
The daily price is only the first line. Everything added at handover and found at return goes into the same total — along with the deposit, while it is there.
How to change the amount
- Open booking editing.
- Edit a component, not the total: delivery, equipment, add-ons, insurance, deposit.
- Save — the total will be recalculated automatically.
Charges based on the return — washing, fuel, damage, excess mileage — are usually added at return. Washing and damage charges can also be changed in the services section of the editing form, and excess mileage can be changed manually.
