How booking states differ
A booking's state is made up not of one field but of several independent flags.
| Flag | Default value | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Active | yes | The booking is not canceled and counts toward occupancy calculations |
| In rental | no | The vehicle has been handed over to the client and not yet returned |
| Status | “New” | The text status of request handling |
| Technical | no | An internal booking: repair, relocation, downtime |
| Demo | no | A demo record, not counted in reports |
Important: “active” and “in rental” are independent. An active booking may not have started yet, while a booking in rental is always active.
How to change a flag
- Open the booking card.
- Cancel the booking if you need to clear the active flag — see deletion and cancellation.
- Change the text status in the card header — see client statuses.
- Do the handover or the return to change the “in rental” flag: it can't be set by hand.
The “Technical” flag is set only at creation
The toggle is in the booking creation form and is absent from the edit form. You can't turn a regular booking into a technical one or vice versa after saving — you'll have to create it again.
The text status lives separately from all these flags and is changed in the card header: client statuses.
