What the debt states mean

The state shows what stage the work on a debt is at.

StateWhat it means
CreatedThe debt is recorded; the client hasn't been informed yet
NotifiedThe client has been informed about the debt
RemindAnother contact is needed
UnpaidThe client isn't paying; in effect, an acknowledgment of a problem
RefundedThe damage was covered by something other than the client's money — for example, insurance

Why there is no “Paid” among the states

Because a debt is closed with money, not with a mark. Payment is recorded with a cash desk transaction with debt payment mode turned on — then the money movement goes into the cash desk and the reports.

Important

Marking a debt as paid without recording a transaction is deliberately impossible: otherwise the debt would disappear from the list, while the money wouldn't appear in the cash desk.

How to close a debt

  1. Open the cash desk and create an income transaction.
  2. Turn on debt payment mode and choose the debt.
  3. Specify the amount and save.

You don't need to set a separate mark after that: the debt is closed by the money movement itself. The “Refunded” state is set manually and only in a different case — when the damage was covered not by the client but, for example, by an insurance company.
