How to read the contract page and payment schedule

The contract page shows how much the client has already paid toward the buyout, how much is left, what is overdue and when the next payment is due. All contract actions are performed from here as well.

How to find a contract

  1. Open “Rent-to-own” → “Contracts”.
  2. Narrow the list with filters: status, discipline, “Car” — search by name or plate number, including archived vehicles, “Client” — search by last name, first name and middle name, or the general search by contract number and client last name.
  3. Open the contract by clicking its row.

Filters are stored in the page address: you can send a colleague a link to the filtered list, and the filters won't reset after the page is reloaded. On a phone, the filters are collapsed under the “Filters” button, and contract cards are shown instead of a table.

Summary above the list

Above the table are the “OK”, “Overdue” and “At risk” counters and the total overdue amount. Clicking a counter leaves only contracts with that discipline in the list.

The list is sorted by urgency: “At risk” first, then “Overdue”, then “OK”; within each group, by the date of the next payment.

Contract header

FigureWhat it means
Buyout priceHow much the client pays for the vehicle under the contract
PaidHow much has been paid against schedule rows: rent, interest, fees, late fees and buyout. The bar shows the share of the buyout price paid
Buyout remainingHow much of the buyout price is still unpaid
OverdueThe unpaid balance of overdue rows and how many days the delay has lasted
UnallocatedMoney received under the contract that has not yet been allocated across schedule rows
“First unpaid”The due date of the nearest unpaid row and how much is left on it

The header also has links to the client, the vehicle and the contract booking, the contract status and its discipline. Every figure, chip and action button has an explanation: an icon next to the label or a tooltip.

“Unallocated” above zero is not always an error

A payment is allocated not only to rows that have come due but also ahead — to future ones. An unallocated balance appears when the client has paid more than what remains on the whole schedule: the surplus will go to a new row automatically if one appears, for example a late fee. If the amount stays right after a fresh payment, see the payment was not allocated.

The “Schedule” tab

Columns: number, due date, type, amount, paid, status and “Overdue since”. “Details” expands a row: what parts it consists of and which of them are paid. On a phone, the schedule is a list, and a row expands when tapped.

What you seeWhen
All overdue rows and the five nearest upcoming onesBy default. The other upcoming rows within 31 days are opened with the “Show more” button
“No payments due in the next 31 days” and the “Full schedule” buttonNothing is overdue, and the next payment is more than a month away
“The schedule will appear once the contract is activated” and “Preview schedule”The contract is still a draft
All rows, grouped by month“Full schedule” was clicked; to go back, click “Upcoming only”

Row types

TypeWhat it is
Down paymentThe first installment toward the buyout price, on the start date
Setup feeA one-time payment on the start date, not included in the buyout price
PaymentA regular scheduled payment
Late feeCharged for a specific row being overdue
Early payoffAppears after an early payoff and carries the entire remaining balance

Row parts

PartWhat it means
RentThe rental part of the payment
InterestInterest on the remaining buyout price, annuity only
FeeThe setup fee, late fees and amounts carried over on early payoff
BuyoutThe part that goes toward the buyout price

Row statuses

StatusWhat it means
ScheduledNo money has been received for the row yet
Partially paidPart of the amount has been paid
PaidThe row has been closed with money
WaivedThe late fee was waived by an employee
CancelledThe row was removed by early payoff or termination and is no longer charged

A row counts as paid only with money. A partial payment of an overdue row doesn't clear the overdue status — only full payment does.

The “Payments” tab

All payments for the contract booking, from oldest to newest: date, amount, cash desk, category and how the payment was allocated across the schedule parts. The balance that has not been allocated yet is shown separately.

Payments recorded after the contract was closed are marked separately: incoming payment, payout to the client, or deposit.

The “History” tab

Contract events, from newest to oldest: creation, activation, payment allocation, overdue rows, late fees, waivers, buyout and termination calculations, notifications. Events involving money show the amount. The last 20 events are shown first; the rest open with “Show more”.

The “Terms” tab

All contract terms, read-only: start date, prices, down payment, deposit, fee, formula, period, rate, late fees, checkboxes, planned handover date. For a closed contract — the date of transfer of ownership or the termination reason.

Terms can be changed only in a draft — with the “Edit” button, see editing a draft.
