Why Telegram notifications stopped arriving
Two types of notifications
| Type | Who receives them |
|---|---|
| Personal | The employee who linked their chat in the profile |
| Branch | The chat linked to the branch |
These are independent links: personal notifications may work while branch notifications do not.
When the link is lost
The system forgets the link if delivery to the chat has become impossible:
- the bot was blocked by the user;
- the bot was removed from the group;
- the account was deleted;
- the chat was not found.
Retrying delivery to such a chat is pointless — so the link is removed, and notifications stop going out. This is not a malfunction but a safeguard: otherwise the system would keep knocking on a closed door forever.
The link is removed silently
You will not receive any message about it — precisely because the delivery channel is unavailable. If notifications have disappeared, first check whether the bot is blocked.
How to restore it
Unblock the bot and link the chat again.
How to link
- Find the @RentalManBot bot in Telegram and start it.
- Your chat ID will arrive in the reply message.
- Paste it into the field in the user profile — for personal notifications, or in the branch settings — for branch notifications.
- Turn on the Telegram notifications toggle.
Important
The ID alone is not enough: while the toggle is off, messages will not go out. When a branch link is removed automatically, the toggle is also turned off, so restoring requires both steps.
A shared chat for employees
Notifications can be sent to a group chat instead of a personal one:
- Create a group and invite employees to it.
- Add the bot to it as well and make it an administrator.
- Paste the group ID into the branch settings.
Tip
A group ID usually starts with a minus sign — this is normal; this is how Telegram distinguishes groups from personal chats. Do not drop the minus sign.
