How to delete a booking
Deletion is a last resort. In most cases, what you need is not deletion but archiving.
A booking under a rent-to-own contract can't be deleted
A booking marked “Buyout” has no delete button: it belongs to the contract. An unneeded draft contract is canceled; an active contract is terminated.
First decide what you need
| Action | What happens | Reversible |
|---|---|---|
| Archiving | The booking is taken out of active work, the data is kept | Yes |
| Deletion | The booking is erased, and its payments and debts lose their link to it | No |
Payments don't disappear — they are left without an owner
The system's own warning says that payments will be deleted too. In fact, something else happens: payments, debts, fines, and invoices stay in the cash desk, but their link to the booking is lost for good.
This is worse than deletion: reports end up with amounts that can no longer be traced to a specific rental. If the booking isn't a mistake but simply ended or was canceled, archive it.
When deletion is available
Three conditions must all be met:
- you have the “Branch manager” or “Main Administrator” role;
- the booking is inactive;
- the booking did not come from an aggregator.
An active booking can't be deleted — cancel it first.
Important
Bookings from an aggregator can't be deleted at all, not even by an administrator. The system will refuse and suggest contacting support: the record exists not only on your side, and it can't be erased from one side only.
Steps
- Open the booking card.
- Click delete — the trash can icon.
- Confirm in the warning dialog.
After deletion, the system takes you back to the bookings list.
Trail in the log
The deletion is recorded in the company's operations log: who deleted it and which booking. This doesn't restore the booking itself — the record is there so you can later see where it went.
How to restore from the archive
An archived booking is brought back into work from its card, with the unarchive action. You can find it in the archive scope of the bookings list.
How to take a booking out of work without deleting it
If you don't need a booking but can't delete it, make it inactive:
- Open booking editing.
- Select “Inactive” and wait for the change confirmation.
The active state is saved immediately. You do not need to save the form separately.
After that, the booking will disappear from the calendar and the active list, while staying in the system with its full history.
Tip
This is the right path for records that were mistaken but did take place. Save deletion for things that never happened at all.
