How to put the booking form on your website
The booking form is a separate widget. Requests from it go straight into the system.
There is a new booking widget
This page is about the old token-based form, which keeps working. The new widget is configured in the dashboard without editing the page code: languages, appearance, consents and pickup locations — how to set up the booking widget for your website.
Embedding takes three insertions into your page: a stylesheet in <head>, a script before the closing <body>, and the widget tag itself where the form should appear.
Steps
- Get the company token — it is in the company profile and is copied with a click. Without it, the form will show neither vehicles nor prices.
- Insert all three parts into the page: the styles, the script and the widget tag with this token.
- Decide what to show: one vehicle, a choice of vehicles free on the selected dates, or the entire available fleet.
- Configure the client fields — display and required status separately. These are different settings.
- Set the pickup locations with prices.
- Match the look to your site's style using classes.
- Check the form on the live page: send a test request and make sure it arrived in the system.
The token is required
The widget identifies your company by the token. Without the token, the form will show neither vehicles nor prices: this is not an appearance setting but the way the form is linked to the company.
Important
The token is visible in your page’s source code. The widget uses the company token. If API access is enabled, this token can also be used to obtain a temporary public API key and access company data. Its access is not limited to the storefront and accepting requests.
What to show
The form can work in three ways:
- show one specific vehicle;
- offer vehicles free on the selected dates, if no specific vehicle is set and the entire-fleet mode is off;
- show the entire available fleet — this mode is enabled separately.
The modes treat availability differently
A form opened on a specific vehicle checks whether it is free on the selected dates. The entire-fleet mode returns the entire available fleet without taking bookings into account — the client will also see in the list what is already booked.
If you do not want requests for booked vehicles, offer vehicles free on the selected dates or use a form for a specific vehicle.
There is also the reverse case: a form on a specific vehicle's page. Then specify that vehicle — the form will open on it right away.
The year of manufacture and the developer credit can be hidden separately.
Client fields: two different questions
This is where it is easiest to get confused, because there are two questions, and they are answered by different settings:
| Question | Setting | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Whether to show the field | Field display | Shown |
| Whether it must be filled in | Required status | Optional |
So a field can be shown as optional, made required, or removed entirely. The configurable fields are: email, phone, middle name, date of birth, passport, driver's license. For the address, only visibility can be configured. There is no separate required setting, and an empty address does not prevent submission.
Tip
Every unnecessary required field means people abandoning the form. Make required only what you physically cannot hand over a vehicle without.
Pickup locations
The list of locations is set together with a price for each: office, delivery within the city, airport. The client chooses a location, and its cost is added to the calculation right on the form.
Consent to the terms
You can add your own link to the consent checkbox — to the page with rental terms on your website. The text, the link label and the address are all set.
Appearance
The look is set with classes: button, container, heading, icons, form body.
Classes are limited
The widget uses its own set of utility classes — arbitrary class names from your markup will not work in it. Be especially careful with spacing changes: they easily break the form on narrow screens, where it is hardest to check.
Change the styling in small steps and check the result on a phone, not only on a computer.
What else is built in
The form is protected from bots automatically. You do not need to connect anything extra, but if a visitor complains that the form does not submit, check whether a browser extension is blocking it.
