Why a vehicle is unavailable right after a rental ends
There is a buffer between bookings — a time margin set by the company. By default it is two hours.
How it works
When availability is checked, the booking interval is extended by the buffer in both directions. So a new booking that starts exactly when the previous one ends will be considered conflicting: its start falls within the extended interval.
Why it's needed
You need time between rentals: to take the vehicle back, inspect it, refuel it, wash it, prepare the documents. The buffer keeps you from placing two rentals back to back and promising the client something you can't deliver.
Boundaries are inclusive
Even with a zero buffer, bookings where one ends exactly when the other starts conflict. This is intentional: a moment in time can't belong to two rentals at once.
If you need to place bookings back to back
Reduce the buffer in the company settings. But remember that it protects not the system but your promise to the client: with zero margin, any late return disrupts the next handover.
How to change the buffer
- Open the company settings, “Rental” tab.
- Set the minimum gap between bookings in hours.
- Save with the button — otherwise the value reverts to the previous one.
There is one buffer for the whole company: you can't set it for an individual vehicle.
