How to review a photo: warnings, findings and “Zone checked”
After photographing a zone, the “Review photo” block appears below its photo. Here, an employee reviews a warning, draws findings and marks the zone as checked at return. AI only warns: it does not create findings or draw damage boxes.
What a warning means
| When | Warning text |
|---|---|
| At pickup | “There may be damage in this photo — check the highlighted areas” |
| At return, with a pickup photo | “There appears to be new damage compared with pickup — check the highlighted areas” |
| At return, without a pickup photo | The same text as at pickup: only one photo is assessed |
AI highlights between one and three areas of a 3×3 grid. These are areas to review, not boxes around confirmed damage. At return, “Pickup photo” is shown above the current photo so you can compare the zone's condition.
- Check the highlighted areas and compare the photos if a pickup photo is available.
- Choose “Draw finding” or “Dismiss warning”.
You can draw a finding even without an AI warning.
How to draw a finding
- Click “Draw finding”.
- Following “Draw around the damage in the photo”, drag a box using your finger or mouse.
- Select the “Damage type”: “Scratch”, “Dent”, “Crack”, “Chip”, “Missing part” or “Other”.
- Fill in “Severity (optional)” if needed.
- In “Classification”, select “New” or “Known”. For known damage, select a “Damage passport record”: only active records for this vehicle zone are available.
- Click “Add finding”. Use “Cancel” to exit without adding it.
After drawing a finding, the warning is marked “Finding drawn”. A new finding clears “Zone checked”: at return, the zone must be marked again.
How to dismiss a warning
- Check the highlighted areas in the photo.
- Click “Dismiss warning”.
- Fill in “Reason (optional)” if needed — up to 500 characters.
- Confirm with “Dismiss warning” or choose “Cancel”.
“Warning dismissed” and the reason you entered are then shown. This action also clears “Zone checked”.
What you can do with findings
The findings list shows the type, classification, “Staff member” or “Via agent” source, and “Confirmed” or “Rejected” status.
| Action | When to use it |
|---|---|
| “Reject” | The finding should not be confirmed as damage |
| “Mark as new” | The damage should be treated as new |
| “Link to known record” | The damage already exists in the active passport records for this zone |
How to resolve an outdated record
“Damage passport record is outdated” appears if a linked passport record has become inactive, for example after being marked as repaired or revoked as incorrect.
- Find the finding marked “Damage passport record is outdated”.
- Check the damage and select “New” or “Reject”.
An outdated link must be resolved
While “Damage passport record is outdated” remains, you cannot mark the zone as checked or complete the inspection. See the damage passport for details of record changes.
How to mark a zone as checked
“Zone checked” is available only at return. Every required zone needs this mark to complete the inspection.
- Review the current accepted photo and compare it with the pickup photo if one exists.
- Draw a finding or dismiss the warning if one is shown. Resolve any outdated passport links.
- Click “Zone checked”.
| What prevents setting the mark | What is needed to continue |
|---|---|
| “A current accepted photo is required for this zone” | An accepted zone photo |
| “Waiting for AI review…” | The check result; if the response is delayed, the mark becomes available without it |
| “Draw a finding or dismiss the warning first” | A resolved warning |
| “Damage passport record is outdated” | A decision on the linked finding: new or rejected |
The outcome is determined automatically: “New damage” if there are confirmed new findings, or “No new damage”.
A new finding and dismissing a warning clear the mark. After these actions, “Zone checked” must be set again.
Unresolved warnings at pickup and in optional zones do not prevent inspection completion. See how to complete an inspection for the other requirements. AI warnings and their dismissal are not shown in the report.
